logo_maumeebayThe second stop on the FIT Family Series is the beautiful Maumee Bay State Park. This beautiful park comes equipped with a modern resort and golf course. Triathletes will be treated to a swim in a small man-made lake adjacent to Maumee Bay. Duathletes will open up with an out around the man-made lake that provides spectators excellent viewing of the entire race as it unfolds. The bike courses are loop courses on very flat country roads surrounding the park. The final runs are around the man-made lake giving participants spectacular views of Maumee Bay.logo_rfrNew for 2014 — HFP Racing will be hosting the Racing for Recovery 45 Mile & 70.3 Mile Triathlon & Duathlon during the Maumee Bay Triathlon & Duathlon. Each venue features a Kidz Triathlon & Duathlon on Saturday followed by a mini, sprint & Olympic distance triathlon and duathlon on Sunday.   • (Ages 10 & under) 100y Swim — 5k Bike — ½mi Run
  • (Ages 11–15) 200y Swim — 10k Bike — 1mi Run

*Duathlon starts with a ¼mi Run (Ages 10 & under) or a ½mi Run (Ages 11–15)

  • Mini: 250y Swim (2mi Run) — 7mi Bike — 2mi Run
  • Sprint: 750m Swim (5k Run) — 23k Bike — 5k Run
  • Olympic: 1500m Swim (5k Run) — 40k Bike — 10k Run
  • RfR 45 Mile: .6mi Swim (5k Run) — 38mi Bike — 6.55mi Run
  • RfR 70.3 Mile: 1.2mi Swim (5k Run) — 56mi Bike — 13.1mi Run

There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION — packet pickup ONLY!

Special Note from Race Director Shannon Kurek:
HFP Man_REVRegardless of which race you’re participating in the transition area closes at 7:30am. Please plan accordingly. For those racing in the Racing for Recovery 45 & 70.3 races there is ONLY one aid station on the bike that you will pass at the end of each of your laps. This is a neutral aid station and it is location at the campground entrance of the park. You may take your own bottles and nutrition to this location before the race. Please be sure to clearly mark each item with your race number. This aid station will offer refuels of Infinit Nutrition and Water. THERE ARE NO BOTTLE HAND OFFS. There will also be bananas, granola bars and BOOM Energy Gel. All cyclist MUST be off the bike course by 12:45pm.  The same nutrition will be located at 3 aid stations on the run that you will pass by 6 times each lap.
